Lately I am noticing that when I run my motor that it is cutting out... when I am running it at full throttle is where I am noticing it.

I have my motor into the shop right now and I just got off the phone with the mechanic. He said that there isn't any error codes on the motor. He thinks that the motor is running to high of rpm's and its the rev limitor that is causing the slight jerks.

He suggested putting a different pitched prop on it.

What do you guys think?

He also said he had a similar problem with a 40hp that had an incorrect gap on the spark plugs. So he was going to check the gap on my plugs.

Anything else I should have him look at?

Re: 50hp Etec hesitation... missing

One thing that I forgot to add was last weekend I had my boat out camping and I had it loaded down. I had 3 coolers, 4 people and camping gear in my boat. It was doing this cutting out even with all this weight in the boat. So that seems like it shouldn't have been running as high of rpms with that kinda load.

I mentioned this to the mechanic and he said it would do it if the prop was slipping?

I am not sure what the rpm is that its running... I have the motor on a jon boat and don't have a tach.

The mechanic working on it is the place I bought it and he mounted the motor and proped it for me.

Could he figure out the w.o.t. rpm with out taking the boat on the water?
