Motor is a 2000 F50TLRY 4 stroke, i've always thought my motor worked off a primer system that has an automatic enricher that supplies more fuel to the carb during start up, the manual I have mentions this, now I am being told all this time I've had a choke toggle switch below my key switch? I never knew what the toggle switch was for, could it be a choke? I have pushed it before during start up with no difference, but perhaps it could be faulty. Below is the only pic I could find online with a toggle switch like mine.

Are you sure it's a 4 stroke? I have a 2000 90 TLRY and its a 2 stroke, in fact I believe the 50/70/90 share similar architecture. Mine has a prime start contraption atop the middle carb, yours should be similar. With the prime start engines, pushing the key toggle in does nothing as it is not connected to anything. The toggle is a carryover from other Yamaha models which do use a manual choke, but yours does not.
