50 psi compression is there hope?

my 1952 johsnon has 50 psi compression on each cylinder is there hope for it?can it be rebuild and saved?it starts right up and runs well just many many hours of fishing i suppose.

50 psi is low, however if you can start it and it runs get some Seafoam and perform the decarb procedure (outlined in the FAQ section), if the compression reading improves after the first time, repeat and retest.

Could also be that your tester is reading low. If it starts and runs well then you don't have a low compression issue. Try the decarb, but don't worry about it until it starts to effect performance.

yea i think its the tester its a 12 dollar cheapy
