Hi, I'm replacing the tilt assembly on my '91 50 Hp Johnson. I am having a dickens of a time removing the lower stainless shaft from the transom brackets. The top is next & I can even get a straight shot at it with a punch. Yes, I've got a puller on the starboard side, but these suckers are in there to stay. I can only think of using some heat but maybe I'm missing something. I even have the directions from the new kit & it simply says to remove the shafts.

What is the secret???

thanks
