long time looker 2nd time poster but i need some help
1: cant find this plastic plug anywhere whats it called

20hp merc 1979

2: is the leak where the lower unit bolts up ok ?
50hp merc thunderbolt 1980

The plug you are looking for is the flushing plug and you can see it here as item 12 and you will need item 13 as well. Type the p/ns into google and they are available at many places.

As for the leak, can you provide some information, presumably the leak is water but when and how? Did you just do an impeller change?

the water leaks if I use the water ears and there is pressure(water hose turned on) or in a barrel and its running
It was rebuild in 2009 by mercury service tech(Guy gave to the records) I just bought it from a guy a few days ago it runs good just unsure if there is enough water going throughout the block to keep it from overheating no impeller change
