50 hp Johnson no spark redux...

What does the "THERMO SWITCH ASSY ELECTRIC START MODELS ONLY" do? BMC-0384088 (it's mounted in the exhaust cover and has two purple wires coming out of it.)

And if it were bad would it cause a no spark situation?

I've got the same issue. Some one has cut the wires, but don't think it has anything to do with spark!
