My 1994 force 50 hp starts great when cold. It runs smooth at all RPMs. When I turn it off to fish and than try to start it after 15min to 1 hour it won't start. What I have to do to get it started is full trottle and crank for about 15 to 30 secounds which I hate to do.

Anybody have an idea on what to do?

Re: 50 hp force hard warm starts.

Very common problem. The engine is flooding.
The diaphram in the fuel pump is leaking/torn/perforated/ has a hole, etc. Seems these things fail atfter about 10 years of use.

When the engine is warm, pump is full, fuel leaks thru the diaphram and the back of the pump and into the crankcase, which floods out the motor.

You will have to look at your motor and see if you have the newer square style fuel pump, or the older round style.

Get the Mercury diapham kit, I like them because they come with instructions. Easy to install.

You can pick one up at your local Mercury dealer for about $10.
