5 blade prop help

I have a 1986 18ft seasprite 205 hp 4.3l merc /O<br />I have a 23 pitch prop now its a 3 blade if I buy a 25 pitch 5 blade prop would it give me more speed the seller says it came off an omc but it looks like the hub that I have on my boat will it work???

The question is ... What are the WOT rpms with the prop you have now compared to what they SHOULD be at WOT ????? Going up in pitch will reduce your rpms from what they are now and possibly cause "lugging" the engine,. FYI, a 23" pitch prop is pretty large for that engine, I would guess. A 25" would be even worse? And I presume you are talking about a High 5 prop from Mercury???

Also,as you go up in the number of blades, you will need to reduce pitch, not increase it, to stay within the same RPM range. You and your engine would most certainly not be happy with the performance of the 25" 5 Blade prop.

4.3 LH 205 4400-4800 WOT 1.62 A1 this what my boat has now the wot is 4400-4800 what should I buy to get max top end speed also what dia should I get a 13 1/2 14 or 14 1/2 Dia ????????<br />I have a 13 1/2 23 pitch now will a 15 dia fit on a alpha 1 drive
