Looking for some help...... my alternator brace bolt had backed out and the belt became very loose. I caught it in time and put a new bolt in. Tightened up the belt and within an hour my belt was splintered. I realized that the alternator pulley was out by 10-15 degrees and now I can't get it lined up. Am I missing something or did my bracket get bent when it lost its bolt. Any help would be appreciated.

welcome aboard

most likely your bracket is tweaked, tweak it back. or you lost a spacer

make sure your pulleys are aligned

your belt shredded because your alternator being out of whack stressed it.

Thanks for the response and the welcome. I'll have to look into getting a new brace on Monday. I dont think I lost a spacer because a spacer would make the problem worse.
