Working on 5.7 Volvo Penta SX Cobra with 350 Chevy V-8. Turns over, gets spark to plugs. But won't start. Have plenty of fuel flow to the carb. Have checked all electrical connections, put in new switch, bypassed neutral safety switch and also bypassed kill switch. Have disconnected fuel line to carb, turned motor over and getting plenty of fuel. What is the next best thing to check?

Did you pump the throttle a couple of times and give it about 1/4 throttle while cranking? Is the boat new to you?

Yes, I surely did. The boat belongs to a neighbor friend and I am working on it for him. Supposedly the boat ran fine last weekend. But I do not know that for sure myself. I work on outboards with success all the time, but this i/o has me stumped!
