I Just bought this used boat that appears in great shape. Runs very well for the
first two rounds 2 hours each. Yesterday while running the engine at top speed and RPM,4600, about 30 minutes of running I notice the RPM reduce and oil pressure
drop to 20 PSIG. I slow the engine down and oil pressure resumed as normal.
I had someone speed the engine up and oil was coming out of the dip stick
handle. I lost about two quarts before I caught it. Once the engine slowed down to 20K RPM everything seems fine. I have an engine manual and it leads me to look for an oil pressure relief valve but give no
instructions or pictures. How about the PCV ? could this be cause? The engine perform so good is it possible that I have bad piston rings? Help me go to the best possible course first.

Many Thanks
Bob Babin

 null

What did the oil that was coming out of the dipstick look like? Foamy?, White and foamy?

I have seen car engines, with defective fuel pumps, fill the crankcase with fuel from the fuel pump. Check and see if your oil smells like gasoline. You may also have a clear line running from your fuel pump to the intake somewhere. If the fuel pump is defective, this line would have fuel in it.
You asked about piston rings. Blow-by from worn rings could build crankcase pressure and cause oil to appear in unusual places. Bert.

lose of presure sounds like its being aireated why you ask? couple reasons like those mentioned water or fuel in oil raising level that the crank becomes sumerged in oil not good another reason the oil pick up tube has become lose just enough to create
a funnel efect (the clearance from oil pan to
oil pick up is very cridcal should be 1/8 to 1/4 max clearance but does sound like you have a windage problem good luck im just back yard harry so i maybe way wrong
