I have an 2001 5.7 EFI 260 hp that I had new wires ,cap with rotor and new AC Delco MR43LTS PLUGS . Boat seem to run better before parts were changed seemed smother and quicker. I ask the dealer who did the work what gap he used on plugs he said 0.045 and thats whats on flame arrestor cover . I have the old plugs and I check the gap and they were 0.035 would this make a difference . I just purchased this boat a few months ago so I had no idea when these parts were replaced so I thought I would start somewhat fresh. I heard the older 5.7 used 0.035 and the newer went to 0.045 . Love to hear what other boaters have to say. Thanks

The difference is probably in your head. The .045 gap for MR43LTS is good. Don't over think it, just go boating.
