I got the wiring harness adapters for the trim circuits today and installed them. That pretty much finishes up the engines and generator installation. I'm waiting on the water pressure gauges, they should be here probably Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday. :| I still have to reseal the drives and install the gimble bearings and bellows kits. I also have a little bit of instrument panel work to do. I'm replaceing a couple foggy guages and installing the water pressure guages. Hopefully within a couple weeks she'll splash again.

Thanks guys....There is a lot of long hours in that hole due to a total rearrangement. A 65 gallon auxillary fuel tank now sits where the generator once was (port side behind the wall where the light is mounted) and the generator sits where the batteries once were. The batteries are now on the starboard side, you can see the trays in the pics. Because of the rearrangement I have totally rewired and reharnessed the complete engine room and add a few additional accessories. :%

Not exactly....I do have a "complete" 5.0 Gi. Less than 350 hrs. ;)

Lookin' Good!!!!

What all was in the trim kit? Did it work as advertised, or did it need any mods?

Re: 5.7 GXi Install Progress Report W/Pics

Thanks Don

There really wasn't much to the kit (remember less than 20 dollars). It was a lead about 20 inches long that went from the connector in the pic below directly to the trim motor connector. Then the connector between the trim switch and the pump relays is disconnected and the trim switch connector now connects to the trim relay circuit connector on the engine. To sum it up, the origional trim pump motor power feed wires and relays are eliminated.

Re: 5.7 GXi Install Progress Report W/Pics

Ran the motors on the hose a few day ago. Thay sound awsome. :p Splashed it today and noticed the starboard motor not running right. It was surging up and down, would not settle down and idle right. It also surged under a light load. Started to put it back on the trailer and got to thinking that it sounded like the engine was starving for fuel. Popped the engine hatch again and started checking things out. Found the high pressure fuel pump unpluged. :^ It must have gotten caught on my cloths while I was "trying" to get out of that tiny space one of the million times I was in there. Any way put about an hour on em today. Ran great and the boat has an unreal hole shot with the origional 19's on em. it'll pop up on plane within about 50 ft and before you can count 4 seconds at about 35 mph. I'm inpressed to say the least. 8)

Congratulations!! Cool that the problem was so simple. My crystal ball sees 21's in your future . . . Did you stay with the same gear ratio?

Could you look again......I'm hoping the 1 in 21 was actually a 4, maybe a 3 anyway. :p Kept the same gear ratio. The origional 5.0's would turn the 19's to alllllmost 5100 so I'm hoping maybe 23/24 at 4800 with the 5.7's. Put just over 90 miles on it today.
