5.0 Mercruser alarms with fuel light

Last weekend I got an alarm while turning left at 3200 RPM which was an audible alarm, fuel light, and fuel gauge went to empty. This happened twice while towing a tube. Once I stopped and disengaged the throttle the light went off and the fuel gauge went back to full. Any Ideas? it is an 01 Merc 5.0


Again only happened when I went to the left

How much fuel was really in the tank? As you were turning, the fueld probably all shifted in the tank so the sender bottomed out and read as empty; or something similar.

I had filled it that morning. Probably ran for a couple hours. Pulling a tube. that was my thought or maybe the fuel/water separator . I think it is on that side. I am running again this weekend to see if it happens again. Just looking for a DIY before taking it to my local.
