Everything was running fine for about an hour. After picking a skiier up, and turning on the engine, it started revving irregularly - high and low in neutral (from 600-1100rpm). When in gear same thing, with little power, almost stalling, and a strange clicking noise...sounded real bad! Gets wierder...when I moved the outdrive up or down, engine was powered, and seemed to run fine. I cycled the outdrive up and down to get to shore and then waited for a tow. I am totally baffled. Electrical problem? EFI problem? Your insights as always much appreciated.<br />Signed totally bummed Searay owner

There are several things that might cause this problem on your unit ,but because this seems to relieve itself a bit with the unit trimed out I would take a hard look at how the shift interupt is acting.Any recent impact?Look at the cable back where it enters the bellhousing of the sterndrive.Any bends that are note worthy?

Puters need a clean power supply.....or they do very weird things...how green/loose are the battery terminals?

Just want to close the loop, and thank you guys for your suggestions. It was an electronic\pwer supply problem. After digging around I found that the ignition wire somehow became loose. Problem fixed! thx
