4hp GNAT no fire

Got an old 4hp GNAT. Has good compression but no spark. Any help would be appreciated. Where do I start looking? It’s canadian built motor sn 7120418.

did you service the ignition? points may need loving after sitting for a while.

Well I pulled off the fly wheel expecting to see points and condensers but found what looks to be a cdi ignition, with a trigger and a stator type magneto

correction, the Gnat came out with a Thunderbolt II for the '76-81 2-cylinder motors. follow the troubleshooting tips in the manual.
