4HP, 2 Stroke Yamaha, 1998

I have a 2 Stroke 4HP Yamaha (1998) that seems to run very well, however recently I have noticed the jet of water is intermittent from the 'tell tale' with sometimes only steam being emitted. Does the impeller or thermostat need changing, if so where are they, it is'nt obvious.<br />Thanks<br />Happy Fisher

Hi, thanks for telling us what your motor is in the sibject line you will get along great here yes your impellor needs changing but before you do check to see if any thing is cloged in the tell tale passage, push it out with a paper clip, you will need a manual to replace the impellor, you asicly remove the prop shaft ( your modle) and replace the impellor, some motore (most) you remove the lower unit, but on yours I think you remove the shaft. good luck
