4cyl Mercruiser I.O

I'm looking at buying this...
1977 19' fiberglass Renken. Walk thru windshield, Bimini top, full canvas cover and new steering cable. Has good 4 cyl. Mercruiser I/O stern drive. Includes '98 single axil trailer, like new.

How dependable is this motor/easy to work on/ how many hp!

Uh, would that merc 4 cylinder be a 140 or a 470 Totally different engines

How fast to think this thing will be? 20-30mph?

If you don't know what engine you have, how is anybody going to tell you how fast it will go. one engine is bigger than the other.
If you would worry about your I/O in this forum and stop advertising your problem with your outboard, your thread wouldn't be so clutterd and hard to figure out what you are actually asking.

Ah hell I don't know...

That's all I have to go on... I'm suppose to be going to look at the boat this weekend and figured I should get info before I go there totally stupid. My experience is limited to outboards only.

Well,......

If it's a 4 cylinder,+ It Does have a Radiator Cap on the forward, upper Port-side,......
It's an old 470.......... You Don't Want It.......

If it's a 4 cylinder,+ it Doesn't have a Radiator Cap,.......
It's a 2.5l, or a 3.0l,......... Both of these are Chevy based,+ Are Good Motors.........
But they are Only 120hp or 140hp,.......

If you want to Go Fast,......... Get a boat with a Bigger Motor......
