496 mag HO double beep alarm

i have a '05 496 mag HO. did all maintainance recently - impellor on water pump, plugs, oil, lower unit oil, fuel filter, greased gimbal bearing. am now getting a double beep alarm after running 3-5 miles. boat runs great. all gauges are reading normally - not overheating - fluid levels are all good. any suggestions?

Is it a double beep alarm that keeps going off every minute or two? That is typically a failing sensor. If you have mechanical shift and throttle I would look at the IAC first. Unplug it and see if the issue goes away. That bugger is the most failed sensor. Second I would look at the neutral position switch. Same thing, unplug it and see if the issue goes away.
