Checked everything out and all seems to be fine, wires are good and fuel filter ring is ok. One thing I did is pulled the gas supply line off motor and let it run out. It idled real smooth the last 20 seconds before it died, does this mean it is flooding or pooling as the book says or is this normal?

THANKS for all the good help.

Re: 48 Johnson

I like it....that tells us she's rich...marry her....LOL.
So she's rich at idle..........
If idle mixture adjustment doesn't help then..
-float level too high (gummed up>bad float>bad adjustment>tired needle and seat)
-fuel pump diaphram leaking internally
-choke or enrichment system partially on
-fuel pump pressure too high (rare but happens)
Atleast we're in the right direction. Good catch on your part with pulling off the fuel supply. I like you already....LOL

(by the way, you're starting a new topic every time you post...its really hard to keep track of your problem!! just click 'reply' instead)
;)
