Hi guys
the end of last season it starting to make a knocking noise at idle if I throttle it up noise goes away. Motor runs great except for the noise that only happen at idle. I pull one spark plug wire out at a time and the noise never went away. It sound like it coming from the front bottom of the motor but not sure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Be the the way I have power steering and alternator conversion stator was removed but the magents were not and it’s still on the balancer.

I have a '82 470 that I would consider to be in good mechanical condition. I have a knock also at idle. It has done it since I've owned it now for 6 years. It might be piston slap that I'm hearing. Bottom line is this little motor runs strong and I maintain it. I have heard others describe these same symptoms. I'm not concerned about it.

I think your right my engine runs great and starts easy even with the knock I think it could be a connecting rod but not sure if I raise the rpm to 1200rpm no knock and sounds good. Any thoughts?
