I have been offered a pair of 454 1978 crusader engines they seem to be identicle to mine a 1979 version. both out of chris craft. the 78 is a 41' sf. mine is a 36' sf.
My engines run good very strong but a rebuild is in the near future. advice on the pros and cons is appreciated.
If I do pick up these engines then I will rebuild them however the cost of rebuilding these engines professionally weather they are mine or these other engines is the same.
what are running used big blocks worth?
and is it worth storing for 4 or 5 years (estimated time to rebuild mine will probably have 2200 hrs)
thanks

seagirl

What FlyBoyMark said. I wish I would have found A cheep B/B befor I did my small block. A rebuild can be done right for not to much money. Do your self a favor and have the motor balanced befor you put it back together. Mine only cost $120.00,the best money I ever spent.
