Ive got a 40 hp mariner, the first time out this year it ran like a top. about 2 weeks later, when you throttle all the way up it doesn't seem to want to run like it should. I noticed last night that when it starts up it pisses water just fine, a steady stream. When we leave the no wake zone it starts to sputter out of the spit hole. I anchored down and fished for a few hours and when I started it back up it pissed water just fine again until I started throttling up.
I replaced the spark plugs and flushed all the fuel lines. Ran a wire down the spit hole and a piece of something came out of it but it is doing it. Any ideas? Thanks
