40HP Evinrude Question..

Is this hole supposed to be here? It enters on a 45 degree angle. I think it shows it in my manual but doesn't state what its for. There is a little oil coming out of it. That seems odd to me.

yep, suppose to be there, drains water pump. oil is normal.

Tash..Thank You. Without me dragging this through the mud, what oil would seep out? Just for my piece of mind ,if oil comes out what oil is it and how often should I check the oil level to replace. Or is it something not to worry about?
