401K .. MFS Investments Opinions?

Here at work they are now using MFS Investments for 401K<br /><br />before, it was with putnum, and I never enrolled. What are people's opinions of MFS?

In the early '90s I sold MFS funds, among others. At the time they looked just as good as Putnam. I suspect they run an acceptable and competitive 401k. Good luck.

All the fund families have some good investments and some not so good ones. The most important things are #1 save money regularly #2 be diversified #3 always contribute to a plan to get the full match, if offered in your 401k. It's Free Money.

MFS has been around a long time. like KM2 said, there are good funds and ones that don't perform as well. mutual funds are long term investments though and switching from fund to fund is a sure way to lose money chasing returns.<br /><br />401k's are good, take advantage of your employer match and invest according to your objectives and situation. 401k's are also pre-tax contributions so your income is somewhat reduced at tax time.
