I would like to know if prop number 48-56232A1 15P from a 70's 40 hp motor would fit a 1980's 40 hp mariner motor the splines are the same but the pitch is different had a 13 this one is a 15 Thank You

Your specs are pretty vague. 77-84 402 motors use the same prop.
I would suggest you go to the prop store here and look up the various
years and models. The pitch difference is another consideration.
