40 hp mercury

i have a 1993 40 hp mercury 4 cylinder it started out with a slight lose of power with a ticking noise in it and then the noise went away and there is no power above an idle changed plugs no help all cylinders are holding 130 psi any help is greatly app.

i have not checked that yet been busy what would be the best way to check it

ok this might help you to help me i was reading a post on here about the beeper that comes on when you turn the key on and now mine does not make a sound but it did last year so could that be the problem if so where is this beeper and how can i test it it is for low oil and engine running hot

last year i was going up the lake wide open and the engine shut off as if you turned the key off and it was tight when i tried to start it let it set for a while and it started up water is pump working
