40 hp Mariner Year Question

Hey everyone, I am new to iBoats and I just purchased my first boat! I would like to know the year of my 40 Hp Mariner. It is a 2 stroke with 2 cylinders and 2 carburetors. It also says oil injected on the cowling, but I couldn't find an oil reservoir so I guess it was removed. The tag on the motor reads 40 EO, code: 6E9 S, SN: 105140. I tried looking it up myself, but I couldn't quite figure it out.

Engine serial number 6E9 S 105140 is a 1987 short shaft, Model Number 7040707 MARINER 40 EO.

For a parts list all you need to do is just google the model number.

Thanks Fun Times! I am looking to convert the stick steer controls to a tiller handle, does anybody know what year range tiller will work with my '87?
