Motor idles fine in driveway.<br />Will not achieve full throttle?<br />I was told it could be a half bad Power Pack.<br />What are the effects of a bad Power Pack?<br /><br />Another dealer claims it's the Coil? <br />What are the effects of a bad coil?<br />Thanks for any and all information in advance.<br />Tom in Florida

With the s/plugs out, check the spark to see if it jumps a 7/16" gap. If you have spark on only one plug wire, switch the coils.<br /><br />If the problem follows the coil, replace that coil. If the problem stays the same, it may be the powerpack.

Thanks for the information and the sugestion to check the section on Loss of Power.<br />Spark on the coil was fine, all else was fine.<br />Problem turned out to be varnish cloging the High Speed Jets. New gas, fresh plugs, went out on Fathers Day boat ran fine! My son cauht me a nice Redfish that day, I caught a nice Trout and a Blue Fish. Thanks for having this forum and all those wonderful boat motor repair answers in Loss of Power. Get rid of that old gas!<br />Tom in Florida
