Hello.

I got a 40HP 2 stroke Yamaha outboard motor. (2000 mod.)

I got some small issues with wiring the tach, I know I need a yellow wire inside the motor to get the signal for the tach. But I can't find that yellow wire, can only find 2 green wires that I allso need.

It's a manually start engine with rectifier. The tach is a analog yamaha with needle ofc.

Black -> Black (Obviously ground)
Green -> Green (This is the one I've used for lantern)
Yellow -> Yellow (This is the one I can't find)

Black -> Black
Blue -> Blue (Both these are obviously for light)
(This is the wiring from the tach)
I found one yellow wire, but that's allready used for the oil lamp infront of the motor.

I do NOT got a battery, but I can easily get one. :)

I know I posted this earlier in another ones thread, but I just wanted it in a new topic if someone else got the same issues as me. :)

Thanks for every answer! :)

no 12V power on that model, your going to have to add a battery.
