4 stroke 135 trim falling

I didn't get any bites over on the Honda site, so I figured I'd try this group, which has proven wonderful in the past.

Tied to the dock, when I raise my Honda 135 out of the water, it comes right up. And when I release the trim up button, the motor slowly falls back (losing trim) until it is fully in the water again. Takes about 2 minutes to go from fully up to fully down with no button being pressed.

What could be the problem? Is there a mechanical way to secure it up? I'm going to have to trailer this Key West 186 soon.

thanks,
Lindeman

When you tilt it up don't you have a "tilt lock" to engage to hold the motor up; either that or a transom saver available from Walley World or a outdoor store. That will let you trailer it home. Probably have lost fluid or a seal has failed don't know anything about Hondas and very little about J/E motors. Good luck.

Check your manual release valve to make sure it's tight and the fluid level is correct.
