4.3lxh from 2004 wont start now???

I put a fresh battery on and crossed the pos and neg...IT ARCHED and i pulled it away. Hooked it up correctly and now turn key...nothing. Not even gauge flutter. Like there isnt a battery hooked up. Checked battery with meter...checked good 12.6 Checked battery cable to starter...checked good 12.6

Cant push the red reset button in. No 12v signal at all to either side of reset lugs. No 12v signal to either side of solenoid next to reset. Tried with key on and key off. Disconnected battery...waited 10min....tried ALL OF THE ABOVE again. Nothing.

Jumper cables from battery to solenoid and starter engaged and motor turned over. I stopped there.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I don't have the serial number but here are pics of motor...hope it helps. It's a 2004

Go to the starter and check to 90AMP fuse, It's probably blown

Great info...thanks. Its super hard access and dark now so tomorrow ill tackle it. What type of fuse so i can get one tonight? Thanks again!!

Just remember there could be more issues when reversing the battery cables. Also does this motor have an electric fuel pump? It could be seized from sitting .

Replaced the fuse on the starter and color coded the cables. Started RIGHT UP! Sold the boat on ebay. Thanks again for all the assistance.
