Just bought a sunbird 198 with a 4.3 omc cobra. Engine has had new head gaskets and is back in place, but someparts of the throttle assembly to the carb is missing or at least it appears that way. I bought a SOLEC online manual, but it does not have any diagrams that I can find. Another problem is the drive, it appears to have a plug missing from the lefthand side of the upper casing, which pumps out water when runing it with the water muffs, and on the lower housing there is a small water jet appears at the back of the righthand side of the lowerhousing, it is about the size of a screw. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to Iboats,
First thing you need to do is trash the Seloc manual.
Go on ebay and get a REAL OMC service manual. It will have all the pics and diagrams you need.
Check with Searayman13 on ebay,he has the one you need!
The hole in the upper gearcase that is pumping out water,It is on the port side(left side standing behind the boat)
There should be a plug there, that is a water passage in the drive. It should have never been removed because the drive MUST be pulled to replace this part.OMC used to put a Cobra emblem over it so no one would unscrew it.
Not a good idea to run the engine untill that is plugged, most of the water will be expelled there rather than cooling the engine.
The small pee hole on the starboard side of the lower unit is normal. Unless you are talking about the screw that holds the screen in place at the water intake.
Posting some pics of what you are talking about would help.
The throttle linkage is a guess without some pics..

Thank you Gary, looking forward to recieving the photos. There is one of your answers that has me a little puzzled. Why must the drive be pulled to replace the plug. The reason I am asking is because I can access it easly while the boat is on the trailer

Newhavenhippo - cuz the nut and seal that go on the back side of the plug can only be accessed from the insdie of the outdrive when its off. I know I had the same thing on my out drive. I ordered new parts ( plug, seal, gasket and nut from dougrussell and then when outdrive was off held nut in place with some long needle nose pliers. Hope this helps!

That is correct.
Crazy design by OMC.
If you just bought the boat it is a good idea to pull the drive and check and grease u-joints.Check gimble bearing and bellows( i would replace the bellows while the drive is off) And service the drive(change gear lube)
You really need the manual before you attempt this.
Can you post some pics of that throttle linkage?
