Hello,

Can you please tell me how I would test my tachometer to see if I am getting power?

He wants to know if his problem is his tachometer or his sender and doesn't know how the current goes.

Sorry if this question is horribly put, but I am writing this for my Dad, who does not have internet access.

I think the motor is a '99.

Thanks in advance, JAn.

I don't think this will help you.... but I test tach's with another tach. I have 3 different style tach's, and 1 of those is just an analog style shop tach.

It's this one....

I've had it for years and it works fine, and i think i got it on sale in the 25$ area. If your going to work on motors.... you really should have at least 1 type of shop tach, as boat tach's are known to be unreliable.

He has a link to the manual Chief, just doesn't know how to open the section he wants.
When you open the link, scroll to the Manual Outline page (the page with the big blue numbers on the right side)
Then locate the section LETTER you want to download. In your case, you want to click on 4D, instrumentation.
