Hi all,
I'm Alain, I'm living in France.
I have a Skanes 575 with a Mercuiser 4.3 TKS (2008)
Since few days I encountered the following PB : engine starts well, when it's warmed up, I engage forward, no PB until there, and when I move to neutral, the engines stalls, and impossible to restart for one hour or one days, depends..
There was no more sparks at coil, so I suspected ignition PB. But in my opinion, when an electronic devives fails, it definivetly fails. In my case , one hour or one day after, the engine would start again.
I didn't knew about the Shift Interrupt system...
It was the shift interrupter switch which was faultly, time to time even released, the contact was still closed.
I found the PB with the help of the informations of that site.
I've disconnected it and now it's ok, except a bit harder to go to neutral, but it's logical.
I'm going to order a new switch.
Anyway, that case is closed, thanks to forum iboats.com, so the aim of this little message is just to say thank you for sharing usefull information and knowledge.
So, to all of you : Many thanks.
Regards
Alain
