4.3 Mercruiser won't start after oil and gas filter change

Hi Guys, she has 29 hours on her, uncovered and cranked her 2 weeks ago, idled great. Changed out oil and both oil and gas filters. Motor will fire off then immediately die, over and over. I had flow from fuel pump when I disconnected it by the carb. Pulled fuel filter, it's full.

What do you guys think?

Too many variations in a 4.3 to even consider an answer.

What's the Merc serial number?

Carbed or EFI?
Does it die when you let go of the key from the start positon?
How long does it run after it starts before it dies?

Serial # is OW661270
Has carb. Turn key, kicks off and rev's, then dies, "Vrooom then dies." I just checked lanyard safety switch, all connectors, all good there.

When I changed fuel filter, I did not fill half way. I did just check the filter and it's full of fuel.

I have done a oil change and had a no start situation too. I would jumper across the oil pressure switch so the fuel pump would kick on. She should light off no problem. Worked great for me anyways. Seems like a air pocket in the oil filter/ switch area of the oil system. Hope this helps...

Without revving the engine, will it stay running with the key in the start position? Sounds like it's dieing when you let the key off start back to the run position.

It will kick off like it starts, then die - vroom then dies. Thanks!

Turn the ignition switch to the run position, then see if you have voltage on the + terminal of the coil.
