4.3 Mercruiser Motor mounts

im looking for a pair motor mounts for a 4.3 L mercruiser 1989. Only the upper blacket which bolts to the block(number one in the diagram). These mounts are for the "new design" fluid mounts. seeing if anyone knows of good junk yards i can start looking.

It's the same mount for a V8 or a V6, any local marine repair shop or even a auto junk yard should have one. They have been the same for ever.

Umm... not really.

1985-1988 part# -44364A1
~1989-1993 part# -18645T
1993-on part# -79550A1

The V8s also ran a variety of different mounts.

Chris you are exactly right!!

This is the other type that the 4.3 uses. The "old design". these mounts (number one in the diagram) part number 79550A1 are indeed the same in v8 and many many models. But the the problem is i have a 88 engine out of a sea ray seville that has these mounts. but i purchased a 89 sea ray 200 cuddy cabin. Uses the same engine but the differnent motor "new design" mounts. and mixing the 2 i cannot get the engine to alighn because with the motor mounts bottomed out it will not go down that extra inch.

Tom,

The one you refer to as 'new design' were for the engines without balance shafts, they used a fluid mount in an attempt to reduce engine vibration (90 degree V6 is inherently unbalanced). After this GM added a counter-rotating balance shaft and that solve (most) of the problem. Merc went back to a solid mount, hence the third number for the mounting.

I have both pieces for the older style mounts out of my 88 checkmate. I swapped in a small block and used the ones that came with it rather than the 'cushion mounts" that were on the non-balance shaft 4.3 that came out.... I've go both tops and bottoms and you can have them if they will do any good.

Anyone have any laying around or have a blown 4.3 which they would like to sell the mounts off of?

sorry if I miscommunicated... that's exactly what I have lying around... motor mounts off a 4.3...
