4.3 merc harmonic balancers

Hellow,
I had a 96 4.3 merc with a balance shaft block. I recently installed a crate engine that has a non balance shft block and I need to know if I need to change out the harmonic balancer I know the older 4.3 have some vibration but this one has alot. I think the 96 balancer may be ext. balanced but Im not sure. any help would be appreciated

Yes, they are different. Get the right one for the new engine.

Thank you very much. The engine builder and mercruiser said they should be the same but it didn't feel right. I have a neutral balanced one from a 88 350 I will give it a try. Thanks
