Battery was hooked up backwards for a split second. Alternator fried. Replaced alternator and now boat trips little white fuse next to ignition. It cranks and cranks, acts like no fuel then trips breaker. Any ideas?

Continually blowing a fuse/tripping a breaker means a direct short to ground on the main red (fused ) lead to the dash. Double check your battery connections, clean and tight. Also make sure the alternator connections are correct. Orange on the output leads directly to main battery connection on the starter post (+)
