4.3 l mercruiser stern drive lower unit test

Hi everyone,

I took my lower unit off and I’m in the process of servicing it. Question: If I turn the drive shaft by hand, should the prop turn as well? Is there a way to test to ensure the gears are good?

Ayuh,..... If it's in gear, yes,.... but Alphas then to slip into neutral,....

You were right, kept slipping in neutral, I was able get in drive a tested the gears…good to go!
