Hi All,
I have a 2007 Stingray with a 4.3 GXI-g. I have a leak at the front/bottom of the timing cover. In order to get the timing cover off, the oil pan needs to come down to get to the timing cover/gasket.

I have a new front crank seal and going to see if that fixes my problem. If not i'm going to need to replace gaskets on timing cover, and oil pan.

Anyone share how the oil pan would come down, in the boat? Does the starter need to come out or removal of any access covers?

Shop manual anyone? Appreciate the assistance.

Tony

Buy a factory manual

However pull the drive

Pull the motor

Put motor on engine stand

Rotate over

Pull oil pan and discard

Pull damper and replace front cover

See @achris thread on oil leak and dealing with the 4.3. it has GM part numbers

suggestions on where to purchase factory manual? hopefully a digital copy?
What are the steps to remove the engine, or is that in the manual? Sorry for the dumb questions, but trying to gather info fast as we are heading for holiday next week.

Thank you !!
Try to get in touch with Achris- he went through a whole ordeal with similar leak was the pan and or cover had for lack of better terms a bump or mismatch that wouldn't allow it to seal properly. He may save you some headaches...
