4.3 GL-C - Distributor clamp bolt

Good afternoon.
I hope somebody can chime in with some help.
I'm pulling the heads off my 4.3, and I'm at the point where I want to remove the distibutor.
In order to remove it, I need to undo the clamp bolt.
Now on the GL-C, the workshop manual indicates that the bolt is tamper-proof and there is a special tool 888863 (looks like a torx key) for removal. The price of the tool looks to be $70 -100AUD.
Having looked at the bolt, and tried a few torx wrenches, nothing seems to fit. I'm concerned that my bolt may have been rounded by a previous mechanic. It may be that the bolt is not a torx fitting and the volvo tool may be the solution. That said, I'm concerned that I'll throw down $100 for the tool and find that my bolt is the problem and needs to be extracted some other way.
Can anyody throw some light on this issue?
Is the 888863 tool just a torx wrench?
Should I drift the bolt out and replace with a straightforward bolt?
What is the purpose of the bolt being tamperproof anyway?
Thanks in advance

Allen wrench with a hole drilled
Search "Tamper resistant hex wrench" then find size 7/32, and do replace it
California requirements

Ah yes
Just like the mandated plugs over mixture screws
If I found one of those on my engine it would get thrown far into the woods…

Vice grips, then replace with the 3/8 or M10 (if the block has 90M)

That's great advice folks.
As suspected $70-100AUD is obviously a Penta Tax.
California legislation not applicable in Australia.
Many thanks
