Ok my question now is
1 what is the max timing curve of the delco voyager est. I have read 22 degrees is that correct
2 what should the max advance be on a 1986 4.3 with 2 bbl carb ?

The older non-balance shaft 4.3L 2B carb engines (which usually had a mechanical fuel pump) are timed the same way as a 4.3L 4B carb version....BASE is -4?, TOTAL ADVANCE is 20?. Dont forget: make sure you're getting 11.5-13.5V on your purple wire....if not, you may still have the ballast resistor inline from a points-based ignition system. Also, be sure to use the timing shunt and to also check your total advance around 3500 RPM.

We've done this engine many times and had very good success with it. A lot of times customers confuse themselves because they see all the old wires from the ESA module and such, and forget the new delco kit really only requires 3 wires to operate because the module is internal to the new distributor.
