Thanks. I too have that problem. I noticed that the idle was about 1000, so I lifted the engine compartment prepared to lower it some. I quickly realized by moving the linkage by hand it would drop nicely to 800. It's like it needs a spring like I used to use on my old hot rods.

Is it okay to run 93 octane in the boat? I always ran premium in my hot rods and never had this problem.
High-Test will help, But go find the service bulliten,+ Check it out......
My 205hp, 4.3LX has a nested pair of return springs....
Basicly you've got a Sweet little power package that has been pushing boats,+ Chevies down the path for a good Many years.....
I agree. I listened to this board when everyone told me to get the V6 over the 4 cylinder. Boy, I'm glad I did. We hit 55 mph this past Saturday on a butter smooth large lake. I probably will never go WOT like that again, but it sure was fun. BTW, it also has one heck of a hole shot!

I already use 89 octane but next fill up I'm going to try 93 and see if that helps the run on problem.

Chris
Make sure the dieseling problem is fixed. I was stupid and fell for the dealer's line that it wouldn't hurt anything. Now that the warranty has expired several years ago my 4.3 LT. with one piece manifolds is ruined by repeated ingestion of small amounts of water that went undetected.
