So I'm working on my boat today fixing the shortcomings of the repair guy I had fix the transom. Sloppin 3M 5200 in all the holes and what not. Well I used my finger  ( stupid now that I'm looking back but hind site is 20/20 lol) and now I have it on both hands and nothing will take it off... Not gas Not adhesive remover... NOTHING lol... Any suggestions to get this crap off?

Good Luck.
I used some to repair a dive Bootie just before going on a scuba trip.
There was still some on my fingernails when I came back after 10 days and over 20 hour under water.

Scuba Terminology:
Bootie: Scuba Footwear worn with Dive Fins.
Boot: Rubber boot on bottom of scuba tank to keep it from rolling and clanking.

Wear latex gloves for a while and let your hands sweat, the oils in your hands and the moisture will soften it so it'll rub off.

No, I mean wear them now to remove the 5200. Wear them for a few hours and the 5200 will start peeling off.

^+1 thats because the outer layer of skin has to come off first.

if you put baby oil on your hands prior to putting the gloves on, it also helps. however it makes it harder to get the gloves on.

try acetone?
Fingernail polish remover is the same thing but then you'd have to confess to your wife.

Next time clean your hands and excess from area as you go along. Isopropyl alcohol, mineral spirits, and acetone will all remove before it cures. Just use lots of paper towels. I found gloves only caused me to make a bigger mess as would get all over gloves and end up everywhere.

As I type this I still have 5200 on my hands from a job I did like a week ago. See, I've embraced the 5200! Love it! I just use the bare hands to apply and whenever it wears off my hands so be it:D

Shoot, I think I have some on my legs right now too. Maybe a chunk on my head even. Whatever, it's all good:cool:

I'm just more water proof now;)

That PL5200 on your hands just really shows how durable and good of a product you just put on the transom.
