3hp jw-14 was running smooth as butter, but....

After all the help I got on these forums I was able to get my little 3 hp running like a top. I had it out on the river and ran it for close to 45 mins and it ran nice and smooth. On the last 40yrds coming into the boat ramp it spuddered a little bit as it ran. I was feeling so good about the way it was running till that.

I just took it out again lastnight and it started and ran good, better than the it did at the end of my last trip, but at wide open throttle it will run good than every once in a while it will hick up and you can feel the boat jerk a tiny bit. It seems pretty random.

Any ideas what to look for... I tried to see if anything came loose anywhere, but have not taken the flywheel off to look at any of the ignition parts.

I can live with how its running, but I know it can run better. Any ideas what to look for would be much appreciated.

Could be contaminated fuel, Diver. I would clean out the tank and check all filters, especially the one in the fuel outlet.

You may need to adjust the high speed mixture screw.
a little. You need to keep it ever so slightly toward rich.
After adjusting it you may need to touch up the low speed screw.
