I have an old johnson seahorse model number is hard to read, it'sJW- 12 or JW - 10 and serial # 1116435. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year it is.
Thanks.

Re: 3hp Johnson

JW-10 is 1954, JW-12 is a 1956, Dave.

Both use a 24:1 fuel mix, Champion J6C plugs gapped at .030"(high speed) to .040"(trolling) and points set at .020".

You should be able to find the gas cap at tcoutboard.com.

Good luck. :)

Re: 3hp Johnson

I just sold one on Ebay. I have one more if you want it. Don't think I'm stepping on IBoats toes here, as its an OLD part. Email me. hogrider@myway.com. JW in sub line will do. GREAT motors. Just sold a JW10, and still have 2 more newer ones
