Your best bet for info as to how large of motor that wtll work on the unit you have would best be answered by going to the manufactures web site and getting the needed info from them. What is the manufacture of thr unit that you have? Factory or addon ?

mercury generally used four systems from 35-90HP.
From 1996-2010 they used a light duty system designed for 30-50HP
From 1987-2010 they used a medium duty system designed for 0-120HP and outfitted with 60-120HP pressure springs
From 1987-1995 they used a medium duty system designed for 0-120HP and outfitted with 30-60HP pressure springs
From 1987-200x they used a pressurized assist cylinder with hydraulic lock on 30-90HP (aka manual assist)

The only way your existing mercury power trim will work over 50HP is if you have the 1987-1995 system and rebuild it with new springs.

Thanks. The serial # is 0b225039. Ive searched with no success to find any specifications. Would you have a recommendation of where or who might I contact for a "rebuild" kit to upgrade if needed?
