I am wondering it I can use my outdrive which is made for a 351 W mercruiser and put it on a boat with a 302. Will it bolt to the bellhousing and the gear ratios not me a problem?

Ayuh,... It'll bolt up, But, the 351 drive should be a 1.32:1, 'n the 302 needs a 1.50:1 ratio...

^Yup. You will be bogging down the 302 with the 233 Drive. I'm still wondering why they chose the 1.32 gears for the 351w while the 350 Chevy used the 1.50's.

Actually the 1.32s suck behind a 351, friend of mine had a 24 ft Fiberform, heavy boat, had to use a 12 or 13 pitch prop no speed. We changed the leg to a 1.5, woke it right up,went to 16 pitch, worked like it was supposed to.
