I have a 1989 Ski Challenger with a US Marine 351 inboard I can not get to start. I verified the engine has fuel by visually watching the carb. I grounded a spark plug to check spark and I'm not getting any. I replaced the coil since it appeared to be leaking. I purchase an internal resistance coil as I can not find a ballast resistor or resistance wire. I checked the cap rotor for moisture and points condenser appear relatively new. Safety switch is on.
The motor ran fine a few days ago and I have been fixing small items and the exhaust on the boat in my driveway. I had it in the lake two weeks ago and running in my driveway a few days ago?? Motor cranks fine and I am really at a loss since I haven't messed with anything that should affect the motor running or starting. I had the motor cover off and it rained but I had the boat cover over it and wouldnt think it getting wet might have anything to do with it?? Any suggestions on where to start to fix the problem?
